............Paul Andrew Kettunen, the principal of Great Lakes Law Practice, PLLC, was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1958, and maintains a general litigation and appellate practice, with a specialty in Maritime Law (Proctor in Admiralty, Maritime Law Association of the United States, 1997).

............Mr. Kettunen is a graduate of McGill University Faculty of Law (LL.B. and B.C.L., 1986, Law Review) and University of Detroit School of Law (J.D., 1988, Cum Laude). In 2006, after practicing in litigation firms with admiralty specialties in Detroit (1988-97) and Philadelphia (1997-2006), he arranged a leave of absence from his Philadelphia practice, Mattioni, Ltd., and relocated to Athens, Greece, where he studied Greek history, culture and language, and explored the islands of the Aegean Sea.

............In October of 2007, after returning from Greece, Mr. Kettunen established Great Lakes Law Practice, PLLC, in his beloved home-state of Michigan. He maintains a close association with Mattioni, Ltd. in Philadelphia, allowing for valuable reciprocal consultations on maritime and other legal matters.

............Mr. Kettunen is a member of the Michigan and Pennsylvania Bars. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court; the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th Federal Circuit Courts; and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Michigan, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Western District of Pennsylvania, District of Colombia, Northern District of California, and the Southern District of Texas. He has also litigated federal cases in the U.S. District Courts of New York and New Jersey. Many of the cases which he has litigated have been published, and may be found in the state and federal decisional volumes. As well, he has lectured on both maritime and non-maritime matters, and is the author of a number of legal articles and publications.

The main office is conveniently located in downtown Detroit, in close proximity to the Wayne County Circuit and District Courts and Federal Court, and providing quick access to Circuit and District Courts in Oakland County.
